W N Powell & Sons Ltd is a family run company operating from a base in Great Harwood, near Blackburn, Lancashire covering all the North West from Lancaster, Blackpool and Southport through to the Greater Manchester and Bradford regions.
As general Building Contractors & Joinery Manufacturers, W N Powell & Sons Ltd undertake a wide variety of works from small garden wall repairs to full office & school refurbishments.
W N Powell & Sons Ltd specialize in factory maintenance and refurbishments and can offer a rapid response to all our clients requirements with a full team of time-served tradesmen from joiners, bricklayers and plasterers to electricians, plumbers and decorators.
W N Powell & Sons Ltd also have considerable experience in carrying out Disabled Adaptation Works (DFG's) having worked closely with Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Borough Councils and also St. Vincent's Home Care & Repair over the past 15 years covering such works as low-level shower installations and widening doorways to forming access ramps and fitting grab-rails.

Refurbishment
Works - Wycoller This project involved the full internal & external refurbishment of a Grade 2 Listed Building in Wycoller incl. the installation of new Oak windows, doors & stairs, re-wiring, plastering and a new oil fired heating system etc. This project won us both the Regional and National Category Award in the 2006 FMB Master Builder of the Year Awards. Heritage Works
- Café Refurbishment This project involved the complete refurbishment of a fire damaged property in Darwen under the Town Heritage Initiative Scheme (THI). Works included a new roof, sandblasting, re-pointing using lime pointing, new floors, plastering, service lift installation, new Oak staircase, Oak internal doors, sash-windows and a Karndean floor. New Bowls Pavilion -
Burnley This project involved the demolition of a fire damaged bowling pavilion, constructing a new concrete base and the erection of a timber frame structure with a traditional tiled roof. The timber framework was manufactured & painted in our workshop before assembling on site. |

Door Replacement -
Stockport This project involved the careful removal of existing deck-entrance doors & frames in various blocks of flats in Stockport and the installation of new steel doors. |

Refurbished Bowls Pavilion
- Hapton This project was awarded to us following a competitive tender procedure and involved the full refurbishment of a local bowls pavilion to create additional space and new facilities incl. a disabled WC and new kitchen. |

Loft Conversion - Great Harwood This project involved installing new floor joists, new floor boards and erecting new stud-partitioning to create 2 no. bedrooms and bathrooms in the loft space of a bungalow. A new boiler was also installed along with new radiators. The bathrooms were highly spec'd with contemporary tiles used to complement the white & chrome finish. |

W N Powell & Sons Ltd joiners workshop is well equipped to produce anything from windows, doors and staircases to reception counters, cabinets and wardrobe doors in solid-timber or veneered MDF's. We supply to both trade & public directly and can offer a full installation service to suit your requirements. .
