W N Powell & Sons Ltd is a family owned company operating from a base in Great Harwood, near Blackburn, Lancashire covering all the North West from Blackpool and Southport through to the Greater Manchester & Bradford areas. As general building contractors & joinery manufacturers we undertake a wide variety of works from small garden wall repairs to full office & school refurbishments. We specialize in factory maintenance and can offer a rapid response to all our clients requirements.

We have considerable experience in carrying out disabled adaptation works (DFG's) having worked closely with both Blackburn and Hyndburn Borough Councils over the past 10 years covering such works as low-level shower installations and widening doorways to forming access ramps and fitting grab-rails.

Our joiners workshop is well equipped to produce anything from windows, doors and staircases to reception counters, cabinets and wardrobe doors in solid-timber or veneered MDF's. We supply to both trade & public directly and can offer a full installation service to suit your requirements. W N Powell & Sons Ltd are members of the Federation of Master Builders, CORGI Gas Safety, Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) and are also Approved Contractors to ELEVATE who are one of the Government's nine housing market renewal pathfinders set up to tackle the decline in the housing market through out East Lancashire.

At the beginning of 2007 we were successful in our application to be included on the Constructionline register, the UK register of qualified construction services which is a public/private partnership between the Department of Environment, Transport & the Regions and Capita. On top of this we also became approved contractors to the CHAS register (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme) which is now linked to Constructionline and responsible for ensuring our compliance with all the required H & S standards.
